- BSCI: Ask for the Monitoring ID (like ours: 25-0315184), then confirm it with the factory’s audit report. A legitimate factory shares the report and the ID without hesitation — and will tell you the audit date and rating verbally, because they know you may cross-check.
- GRS: Take the TE-ID (like ours: TE-00300346) and check it on the Textile Exchange certification database. The certificate must be a scope certificate listing the facility and its processes — a generic “GRS certified” claim with no ID is a red flag.
- Dates: Certificates expire. BSCI audits are typically valid for up to 2-3 years (ours runs to April 2027) and GRS scope certificates are re-audited periodically. Always confirm the expiry date, not just the logo.
